Early in 2017, The Nexxus Group® became part of The United Way team in support of its charitable initiatives.
On Friday, May 12 two groups of Nexxus volunteers joined together with Pathways for Children and the United Way for a day of sprucing up the grounds and facilities at the Pathways sites in Beverly and Gloucester. Pathways for Children is a leading provider of early education and child care programs for the North Shore, serving children and their families from 13 communities.
“Amazing what your teams accomplished in a 3-4 hours! Thank-you!” wrote Bill Weihs, Senior Director of Development for the United Way of Massachusetts, in an e-mail to The Nexxus Group.
In April, Nexxus volunteers created a 10×10 foot board game for the Beverly Children’s Learning Center, an early childhood education and care program serving children in Beverly and its surrounding communities. The sports-themed Road to Victory game proved to be a big hit with the students. Similar to CandyLand it is designed to help children in Kindergarten through Grade Three with vocabulary words.
Since the Beverly Children’s Learning Center classrooms are aligned by Boston’s professional sports teams, the sports-themed game proved to be a perfect fit.
